Men... How to Lose Weight and Get Fit!
I know what it’s like to be lost in a sea of never ending diets and workout fads that can leave you frozen. What’s real? What works? Where do I start? How do I even begin to think about changing?
Most men can make simple changes to see some results, but it can be difficult to find the right changes to make. Here are my top 3:
Diet: Change your diet by making some simple changes and eating fresh whole foods.
An average hamburger with a side of fries is 1200 calories
A grilled chicken cobb salad is 750 calories
In the Gym: Get rid of the old school idea of doing chest and back on one day and legs and arms on another day. Stop the idea of doing long slow cardio work. The body responds to change. Each day should look different when you go to train.
Mix in high intensity intervals with strength work.
Mix in dumbbell work, kettlebell work, barbell work, and body weight activities and do it all in a dynamic way.
Sleep: We see that most change in the body occurs during sleep. The body repairs and adapts when we are sleeping.
7.5 hours per night are a minimum requirement. In order to lose weight, get lean, and continue to train you’ll need to get your sleep.
The best time to start making these changes is now. I have many male clients who were hesitant to start because: “It wasn’t a good time to start,” “I just got a new job,” “I’m going on vacation,” “I’ll start after the new year,” etc… The ones who have been successful, lost the weight, gotten the body they want, and had more energy are the ones who just jumped in and started. It’s never a good time, but if you can start in the midst of the new job and planning a vacation, then when things slow down it is easier. Not to mention, there will always be something that can be an excuse to put this off. Gentlemen, you have to prioritize your health, wellness, body and mind.
Would you like a program that is specific to you? Something that helps with nutrition, lifestyle, and training? A program that you can follow that will lead you to get healthy, strong, and fit?
